Ross joins Holborn Assets as an all round generalist, where he also utilises his understanding of the tax laws in Europe to help European expats.
Having left school in 1983, Ross spent 14 years in the Army, where he served in various roles and locations including Northern Ireland, Canada, Cyprus (with the UN), Belize and Bosnia.
Ross has now been in the offshore industry since 1997/8, having previously worked in Antwerp, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur. He has passed the UK's CII Financial Planning Certificate.
As a generalist, holistic financial planning is central to Ross's role. He recently completed a very complex individual plan, which required expertise in UK Pension law, including a QROP and ultimate Pensions drawdown. This was linked with a re-mortgage in the UK and a complete restructuring of the client's savings and Investments, Life Assurance and Estate Planning, with a view to mitigating inheritance tax in the UK.
